What Is The Thellid Zodiac?

The Thellid Zodiac is a modern alternative zodiac built around the Thellid Calendar and based on The Sparkling 12 personality factors. It is the first zodiac to employ personality theory and mathematical techniques to achieve completeness and orthogonality, (well not entirely but it's pretty good semantically), so that you really CAN find a zodiac assembly that accurately describes you or anyone else to a fine degree of detail.

The Thellid Calendar is a modern Positivist calendar that uses 13 months of 28 days and two extra months of 1 day each for "Old Year's Day" and "Leap Day". The Thellid Zodiac also employs an 8 year cycle to use up the remaining personality traits of The Sparkling 12.

The 8 years, the 15 months, the 4 weeks and the 7 days each have a culturally unloaded name and each embody a particular subset of the personality traits from The Sparkling 12 and are anthropomorphically represented by various things.

The 15 months embody daring, abstraction, motivation & extroversion and are represented by animals.
The 7 days embody organisation, toughness & self-reliance and are represented by recreational activities.
The 4 weeks embody expectation & dominance and are represented by investor types.
The 8 years embody rationality, tenacity & abnegation and are represented by management styles.

The objective of the Thellid Zodiac is glean from each person a specific set of 12 personality traits that correspond to one specific day every 8 years. This day is that person's "Complete Soul Day" which they can celebrate. Since 8 years is rather a long time there is a less specific version which the person can celebrate every year simply called their "Soul Day".

A person's Complete Soul Day accurately describes that person's personality and can be used for many purposes such as psychological analysis, divination and advice with respect to decisions. Such matters will be dealt with later in the next page: The Thellid Horoscope.

Each of the 12 personality traits that each person carries has two aspects: the positive, where that trait is manifested in a good way and the negative, where it is manifested in a bad way. When you look through the following list of anthropomorphic devices you will see extensive lists for each of these. Please note that not all the characteristics in each list apply all the time. "Good" people will exhibit the positive aspect far more than the negative. "Bad" people will exhibit the negative aspect much more than the good people but even they will still show the positive aspect at times. Furthermore, not all of the characteristics listed will always manifest. Each person will manifest the characteristics on his/her list in varying amounts.

Finally, bear in mind that these personality types are based on the idea that a person is at one extreme or the other of each trait dipole. There is no middle ground for the purposes of the sparkling 12, thus, the personalities revealed are more extreme than is normal. For this reason, one should generally tone down the results to match the personality intensity of the individual in question. The amount one should attenuate the result will also vary according to the trait.
